Stevenson Carlesbach

Consultant

Stevenson Carlebach’s work focuses on negotiation training and strategic relationship management for corporations such as Hewlett-Packard, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, L.L. Bean, and Deloitte, and public sector clients like the Ministries of Education in Argentina and Israel.

Stevenson has been a long time collaborator with the Harvard Negotiation Project, where he helped teach the Advanced Negotiation Workshop for lawyers and business professionals. Stevenson’s work has grown out of a commitment to collaborative problem solving, community building, and diversity. At Connecticut College he founded the Holleran Center for Community Action and Public Policy. He is also the founder of ISAAC, a public middle school in New London, Connecticut focused on the arts and effective communication. Together with colleague Jeffrey Kerr, Stevenson has adapted the materials and approach for family therapists and couples called “Love Equity.” To date, he has trained over two hundred family therapists.

Prior to his work in this field, Stevenson was for more than a decade an Associate Professor of Theater at Connecticut College, where he was Chairman of the Theater Department. He has a degree in classics from Tufts University and a Masters in Fine Arts for Directing from the Boston University School for the Arts.

With six children, including 1-year old twins, Stevenson hopes he will learn to practice at home what he teaches on the road.
