Formally trained in mediation skills at the NUS Faculty Of Law Mediation Workshop under Associate Professor Joel Lee Tye Beng, Marcus has been involved in teaching coaching mediation and negotiation since 2007.

As a student, he received the NUS Student Achievement Awards (Competitions), having won the International Chamber of Commerce Mediation Competition, the International Negotiation Competition (Copenhagen), the HSBC-McKinsey Business Case Competition and the Discover Europe NUS-SMU-NTU Business Schools Debate. Since then he has committed much time to help coach and train students in mediation and negotiation skills; both informally for competitions as well as formally, through his role as an Assistant Tutor at NUS.

While an Associate with Rajah & Tann LLP, Marcus conducted trainings for management and staff of both local and multinational companies on Singapore’s personal data protection laws, ranging from half to full day sessions, with audiences of up to 500 people.

He is currently the Executive Director of SIMI, which is Singapore’s first professional accreditation standards for body mediation. His responsibilities include coordinating outreach and research initiatives in mediation with SIMI’s partners both within Singapore as well as around the world.

Marcus has experience training staff and senior management from large financial institutions, real estate companies, multi-national retail chains, technology support and consulting firms, higher education institutes and employment agencies and institutes.
